Chi Thong - Bún Thịt Nướng

The BEST Bún Thịt Nướng in Saigon

Yesterday, I went to Ch Thông and was horrified to see they were closed!!  Oh no!

Often listed in Eating Saigon!’s “Top 3” favorite Saigon street food listing, I was crushed!  🙁

See my earlier passionate eating adventure review for Chị Thông.

But Wait! Who are those people waiving their arms frantically in the air?

AHHHH – just half-a-block away, Ch Thông‘s motorbike parking guys were signaling!   Ch Thông had moved down the street to its new location …  with its new name, Chị Tuyền.  Thank goodness, the excellent eating would go on …. 🙂

BBQ Pork doesn’t get better than this!

It’s difficult to recommend eating anything but the Bún Tht Nướng here.  It’s simple the best. (Of course, adding a few chả giò – deep fried spring rolls -is a delicious add-on to your bún tht nướng.)

Bun Thit NuongBut, it you want to expand your eating adventure here, there’s quite a yummy selection of other food treats.

Open 7:00 am – 7:45 pm

UPDATE – March, 2017: Hai and my recent visit to Chị Tuyên was not a disappointment.  The Bún Tht Nướng is still awesome.  A must visit!

UPDATE – February, 2019: Again, another great Bún Tht Nướng meal!

  1. […] is ecommended by both Eating Saigon and Jodi from Legal Nomads, one of the shop you can have yummy bun thit nuong  is Chi […]

  2. We tried Bun Thit Nuong cua Chi Thong for lunch on our 1st day in Saigon. We were welcomed at the entrance by smiling employees.

We enjoyed the bun thit nuong cha gio for two with a bottel of Sting (strawberry soda) each.

My boyfriend and I might be spoiled with the added sugar and MSG of thit nuong in the states, because we felt the thit nuong here was fragrant, but subtle. But, the entire bowl of bun and assorted accompanying vegetables made it worth the trip.

    Thank you for the suggestion!
