Luckily for me, Mì Quảng Hoi An sits directly across Đồng Nai street from my favorite swimming pool. And on my walk back home from my almost daily swim.

So, I’m a frequent lunch visitor here … and occasionally show up for a late evening snack too.

There’s absolutely nothing fancy here.  Your basic small street eatery, with plastic stools, aluminum folding table, and a plastic toilet paper holder on each table dispensing your napkins.

BUT, the mì quảng is excellent!  The middle-aged woman operating here for the past 6 years serves up this authentic and delicious Hoi An dish.

All the ingredients are fresh and delicious – but the homemade noodles are outstanding.  Clearly, she has discover the secret of this Hoi An speciality.

Mì Quảng in Bac Hai Neighborhood

My favorite version is thập cầm – a little of everything – that includes a prawn, slices of pork, chicken pieces, and some chả (ground meats). Of course, you can choose any one of those ingredients alone.

In addition, every bowl is filled with the fabulous noodles, peanuts, a dish of fresh herbs and greens , and YYY, a large rice-cracker disc.

Then, there’s the broth. Just a tad spicy and providing a flavor burst with every bite. I’m probably here once or twice each week and always greeted with smiles, a glass of trà đá (ice tea) or nước mía (sugar cane drink) and a real lunch treat.

Maybe the best part of Mì Quảng Hoi An is that it sits amidst so many fun eating and past-time options in the Bac Hai neighborhood. (Try searching “Bac Hai Neighborhood” at the “Search by District” tab in the Menu Navigation Bar above).  A great day can be had combining pools, parks, eateries and coffee-shops together with Mì Quảng Hoi An – Open from 7am – 10 pm everyday.  ENJOY! Possibly, I’ll see you there  🙂

Open from 7am – 10 pm everyday.

[Continuously re-confirmed as one of our all-time favorites – most recently FEBRUARY 2023]
